Today I’m writing from my apartment as I sit in front of my window that overlooks the city. There are raindrops sliding down the glass and the sky is a brutal gray. Many people use rainy days to read books and such, perhaps sitting in the window as I am now, but I like to use them to think and write. As I sit here and think [and stare out the window], it all becomes so evident to me; that’s it! It’s finally here! It has to be it… for sure it has to be! That’s right the infamous RAINY SEASON of Busan, South Korea. I would dare to say that it has been here for at least a week, maybe longer. The days are filled with sagging wet clothes, squeaky wet shoes, and gloomy cold students. The only enjoyment these days are watching the students walk in soaking wet, umbrellas turn inside out from the heavy winds, and waiting to discover which one has the “coolest” rain boots on. I’ll admit there are some nifty ones out there! Ha! Don’t get me wrong about the rain… I do love rain and rainy days, but this what seems to be “typhoon season” I am no fan of. I dread leaving the apartment without my umbrella even if the sun is shinning and has been shining all day, because these storms blow up out of nowhere. I’ve been caught out twice now without my umbrella and just take my advice on it, its not fun nor anything to brag about.

Zack, I'm enjoying catching back up on your travels in Korea. The rainy season you describe sounds very familiar to me. I miss sitting in our apartment window many stories above the ground watching the rain slide down the window and lots of people scurrying around down below.
Miss you brother. be well.
